International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses

The International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) taxonomic database is a maintained resource comprised of a universal taxonomic scheme for all the viruses infecting animals (vertebrates, invertebrates and protozoa), plants (higher plants and algae), fungi, bacteria and archaea. The ICTV Executive Committee (EC) has established over 100 international Study Groups (SGs) covering all virus taxa with subcommittees encompassing curation of Archaeal Viruses, Animal DNA Viruses and Retroviruses, Animal dsRNA and ssRNA- Viruses, Animal ssRNA+ Viruses, Bacterial Viruses, Fungal and Protist Viruses, and Plant Viruses.国际病毒分类委员会（International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses, ICTV）分类数据库是一套持续维护的资源，其构建了覆盖感染动物（脊椎动物、无脊椎动物与原生动物）、植物（高等植物与藻类）、真菌、细菌及古菌的所有病毒的通用分类体系。国际病毒分类委员会执行委员会（Executive Committee, EC）已设立100余个国际研究组（Study Groups, SGs），覆盖全部病毒分类单元，并下设多个分委员会，分别负责古菌病毒、动物DNA病毒与逆转录病毒、动物双链RNA（dsRNA）及负链单链RNA（ssRNA⁻）病毒、动物正链单链RNA（ssRNA⁺）病毒、细菌病毒、真菌与原生生物病毒以及植物病毒的编目管理工作。
