Members of Local Councils, 1995

This survey forms part of the research project 'Det kommunale lederskab' (Local Government). The purpose is to map out the background of mayors and members of local councils as well as their opinion of and attitude to the work in the local council. # In the autumn of 1995 questionnaires were sent to all the members of the local councils in 72 municipalities and to the mayors in the remaining 203 municipalities of the country. # The questionnaire dealt with the following themes: #- Personal involvement and activity in local politics. #- Relations to individuals, groups and organizations in the # municipality. #- Opinion of the work in the local council. #- Assessment of modernization tendencies in the municipality. #- Assessment of the interplay between political and administrative # leaders. #- Well-being. #- Social background
