The VREN dataset was created by the Department of Computer Science, University of California, Santa Barbara, focusing on advanced analysis of indoor volleyball matches. This dataset contains 1632 volleyball rallies, covering both professional and NCAA Division I indoor volleyball competitions. It aims to provide in-depth tactical analysis through detailed player movement and positional data, as well as volleyball rally patterns. By introducing volleyball-specific descriptive language, the dataset converts match videos into structured data, supporting automated volleyball action and tactical analysis tasks including rally prediction, setting type prediction, hitting type prediction, as well as volleyball tactic and attacking zone statistics. The application of this dataset is designed to help coaches and players make more effective decisions during training and matches, thereby enhancing the tactical proficiency and competitive performance of volleyball.
