We proposed novel Engineered Escherichia coli Nissle strains expressing human hormones to alter the gut microbiota and alleviate metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). By applying ITS sequencing, the engineered E.coli's effect on fungi community and function was evaluated.
