RNA sequencing and Nanopore cDNA sequencing of Schizosaccharomyces octosporus diploid cells undergoing azygotic meiosis. Schizosaccharomyces octosporus

To polish the gene structure annotation of wtf genes and experimentally quantify the expression of wtf genes in the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces octosporus, we perform RNA-seq and Nanopore-cDNA-seq on S. octosporus diploid cells undergoing azygotic meiosis. Diploid S. octosporus cells placed on SPASK (1% glucose, 7.3 mM KH2PO4, vitamins, 45 mg/L of leucine, adenine, uracil, histidine, and lysine) agar plate for about 19 hours were harvested and total RNA was extracted for sequencing library preparation.
