THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

This article examines the impact of social media on the development of English language skills in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning contexts. The integration of social media platforms into language education has transformed traditional approaches to English learning by providing learners with continuous, authentic, and interactive exposure to the target language beyond classroom settings. The study explores how platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram contribute to the improvement of the four core language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Furthermore, it highlights methodological strategies that educators can use to effectively integrate social media into English language teaching. The findings demonstrate that social media serves as a powerful educational tool that promotes learner engagement and supports the development of practical language skills in modern EFL environments.
