RNA-sequencing study of global gene expression in haploid yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae mating type MATa treated with different doses of alpha-pheromone

Yeast cells were treated with different doses of pheromone in order to obtain dose-response profiles for induced genes. Specifically, dose-dependencies of transcriptional feedback regulators of the pheromone-response pathway were quantified. Overall design: Yeast cells were grown in minal medium with glucose and treated with pheromone at mid-exponential phase. Samples were collected after 60 minutes of incubation with pheromone. Two biological replicates were performed, each with 9, partially overlapping, doses of pheromone. A sample with mock-treatment, i.e., no addition of pheromone, served as a reference for non-treated cells in each experiment.
