Multiomics signals associated with maternal epidemiological factors contributing to preterm birth in low- and middle-income countries

This study investigated the complex causes of preterm birth (PTB) using multiomic profiling and multivariate modeling. It analyzed plasma samples from 231 out of 13,841 pregnant women, identifying biological signatures linked to PTB and maternal characteristics such as maternal age, gravidity, and BMI. Machine learning models accurately predicted PTB, time-to-delivery, maternal age, gravidity, and BMI. The study revealed specific biological correlates for these factors and offered an integrated perspective on the epidemiological factors related to PTB.
