The dataset contains unprocessed, demultiplexed MiSeq reads for 16S derived from eDNA metabarcoding of water from streams in Andean Ecuador. The dataset contains two markers: A fragment of the 16S rRNA gene amplified with amphibian metabarcoding primers MiAmphiL and a fragment of the 12S rRNA gene amplified with vertebrate metabarcoding primers 12S-V5. The sequence reads are supplementary raw data for the manuscript Environmental DNA metabarcoding accelerates biodiversity assessments and species rediscoveries in a tropical Andes hotspot.
