Podujeva WWTP Project Biodiversity Survey Results
收藏资源简介:
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the “EBRD”) is providing financing to the Government of Kosovo for the construction of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and wastewater infrastructure in the Municipality of Podujeva (the “Project”). The Project has been categorized as Category “B” according to the EBRD E&S Policy (ESP). The water and wastewater infrastructure in the Municipality of Podujeva is operated and managed by the public entity Regional Water Company Pristina (“RWCP”). Currently, the urban population and most residents in rural areas of Podujeva lack access to municipal wastewater treatment facilities. However, significant progress has been made from 2016 to 2024, including the commencement of construction of the main sewerage collector for the urban center and major villages in the area. This collector is designed to transport wastewater to the proposed site in the south for the future WWTP, which has yet to be built. As part of the Environmental and Social Assessment, rapid biodiversity surveys have been conducted in order to assess any possible impacts of Project implementation. The species groups surveyed for the purposes of this Project include habitats and flora, invertebrates, ichthyofauna, herpetofauna, avifauna and mammals. The results of biodiversity data have been accumulated and presented in the form of species occurrence data.
