[DREAL OCCITANIA] Envelops IRRs (high risk of flooding) throughout the Adour-Garonne basin and the Occitanie region

European Directive 2007/60/EC of 23 October 2007 on the assessment and management of flood risks (OJ L 288, 06-11-2007, p. 27) influences the flood prevention strategy in Europe. It requires the production of a flood risk management plan aimed at reducing the negative consequences of flooding on human health, the environment, cultural heritage and economic activity. The objectives and requirements for achievement are given by the Law of 12 July 2010 on the National Commitment for the Environment (LENE) and the Decree of 2 March 2011. Within this framework, the primary objective of the mapping of flood areas and flood risks for IRRs is to contribute, by homogenising and objecting knowledge of the exposure of issues to floods, to the development of Flood Risk Management Plans (IFMPs). Basin Adour-Garonne: By order of 10 December 2019, the prefect coordinator of the Adour Garonne basin approved the risk mapping of the following IRRs: the TRI of AGEN, the TRI of the ARCACHON BASSIN, the TRI of BERGERAC, the TRI of BORDEAUX, the CAHORS TRI, the TRI CASTRES-MAZAMET, the TRI COTIER BASQUE, the TRI of DAX, the TRI of LIBOURNE, the TRI of LOURDES, the TRADE-MARVEJOLS TRI, the MONTAUBAN-MOISSAC TRI, the IRR of PAU, the TRI of PERIGUEUX, the TRI SAINTES-COGNAC-ANGOULEME, the TRI of Tonneins-MARMANDE, the TRI TOULOUSE, the TULLE-BRIVE TRI. By interprefectural decree of 03 and 29 December 2014, the prefects coordinators of the Adour-Garonne and Loire-Bretagne basins approved the risk mapping of the TRI inter-basin Charentais-MARITIME Rhône-Mediterranean Basin: By orders of 20 December 2013 and 1 August 2014, the prefect coordinator of the Rhône-Méditerranée-Corse basin approved the risk mapping of the following IRRs: the TRI of DELTA DU RHONE (including municipalities in the Occitanie region within its perimeter), the IRR of SETE, the TRI of PERPIGNAN-SAINT-CYPRIEN, the TRI of BEZIERS — AGDE, the TRI of CARCASSONNE, the TRI of MONTPELLIER, the TRI of NARBONNE, the TRI of NIMES, the AFS TRI, the TRI d’AVIGNON (including municipalities of the Occitanie region within its perimeter). By decrees of 11 December 2019 (amending the orders of 20 December 2013 and 1 August 2014), the prefect coordinator of the Rhône-Méditerranée-Corse basin approved the revision of the risk mapping of these TRIs as part of the implementation of Cycle 2 of the Flood Directive.
