Causal study of osteoporosis and abdominal aortic calcification (ACC): a Mendelian randomization study

An association between osteoporosis and abdominal aortic calcification (ACC) has been consistently observed in various clinical studies. However, the underlying genetic relationship between these two conditions remains uncertain. Despite the extensive research conducted on the topic, there is a lack of conclusive evidence regarding the existence of a genetic link between osteoporosis and ACC. Further investigations are warranted to elucidate the potential genetic factors -contributing to this association and to enhance our understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms involved.
