Benchmark Logs for Virtualization Overhead Analysis of CPU-Intensive OpenMP Workloads on KVM, Proxmox VE, Xen, and Hyper-V

This dataset contains log files from benchmarking experiments conducted to evaluate virtualization overhead for CPU-intensive HPC workloads. All experiments were run on a GMKtec K11 mini-PC with an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor (8 cores / 16 threads, 32 GiB DDR5, 1 TB NVMe SSD) using Ubuntu 24.04 LTS as both the host and guest operating system across different hypervisors. The benchmarks come from the SPEC ACCEL 1.2 suite (OpenMP subset, CPU-only, accelerator offloading disabled), including pilbdc, pseismic, psp, pep, pcg, and pswim. These workloads represent lattice Boltzmann flow solvers, seismic modeling, synthetic CFD problems, random pair distributions, conjugate gradient solvers, and shallow-water weather simulations, respectively. The log files record raw runtimes for each workload under bare-metal execution and virtualized environments (KVM, Proxmox VE, Xen, Hyper-V), providing reproducible data for performance analysis of virtualization overhead in CPU-bound parallel applications.
