Modelled and manually drawn polygons for potential avalanche zones for three French massifs (Vanoise, Mont-Blanc and Haute-Bigorre) for most active avalanche periods

The dataset provides potential avalanche shapefiles generated by integrating information from the French avalanche database, high-resolution digital elevation models (DEMs), and Sentinel-1 SAR images for events occurring across three distinct time periods in three French massifs (Vanoise, Mont-Blanc and Haute-Bigorre). These shapefiles are named 'modelled polygons'. The dataset also contains manually drawn polygons over SAR RGB image composites; these shapefiles are named 'manual polygons'. Each shapefile starts with the name of the respective massif studied, the type of approach used to generate the shapefile (modelled or manual), and the time period during which the study was performed (for example: 25_01-07_02_2019 can be read as all avalanches mapped between 25 January and 07 February 2019).
