Drought is one of the major environmental factors impairing the productivity in agriculture. In this study, transcriptome sequencings of Brassica juncea L cultivar G170 (drought tolerant), G170 (drought sensitive) under normal water supply and drought conditions were performed to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) related to drought tolerance mechanism. The identified DEGs in the experiment, particularly those which were up-regulated in shoots of drought tolerant cultivar G170 during drought stress were potential candidates for enhancing tolerance to drought in B. juncea.
