VPRS 5341 Receiving And Personal Description Register

The function of this record series is to record prisoners as they are received into the prison. The detailed information recorded about each prisoner differs between the units. It includes their gaol number, name, registered prisoner number, migration details including the name of the ship and year of arrival into the Colony, former convictions, personal description, education in terms of literacy, particular physical marks, native place, religion, occupation, trade or calling, admission details, offence, sentence and date of conviction, and discharge details.
