五日生化需氧量是一种环境监测指标,用于监测水中有机物污染情况,有机物都可以被微生物分解,此过程中需要消耗氧,如果水中溶解氧不足以供给微生物的需要,水体就处于污染状态。六横岛拥有大量的水产养殖基地,通过监测六横岛及其附近海域各观测点数据,了解海洋中的五日生化需氧量变化趋势和异常情况,并对海洋生态环境进行监测和评价,为六横岛海水养殖、海洋工程建设等工作和相关用海项目提供数据支撑。以《海水水质标准》(GB 3097-1997)第一类海水水质五日生化需氧量含量,作为六横海域五日生化需氧量基准数据,将当月该海域平均的五日生化需氧量数值与五日生化需氧量基准数据作比(海域当月平均五日生化需氧量数值/海域五日生化需氧量基准数据),得到该月该海域的五日生化需氧量指数,如五日生化需氧量指数在1.1以下的,则定义为“正常”,五日生化需氧量指数在1.1-1.2的,则定义为“预警”,五日生化需氧量指数在1.2以上的,则定义为“异常”。

5-day Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD₅) is an environmental monitoring indicator used to assess organic pollution in water bodies. Organic matter in water can be decomposed by microorganisms, and this decomposition process consumes dissolved oxygen. If the dissolved oxygen in the water is insufficient to meet the metabolic needs of microorganisms, the water body is considered polluted. Liuhheng Island has a large number of aquaculture bases. By monitoring data from various observation points on Liuhheng Island and its adjacent sea areas, we can grasp the change trends and abnormal conditions of BOD₅ in the marine environment, monitor and evaluate the marine ecological environment, and provide data support for aquaculture, marine engineering construction and other sea-related projects in Liuhheng Island. Taking the BOD₅ content of Class I seawater quality specified in the *Seawater Quality Standard* (GB 3097-1997) as the baseline BOD₅ value for the Liuhheng sea area, the BOD₅ index for that month in the sea area is calculated as the ratio of the monthly average BOD₅ value of the sea area to the baseline BOD₅ value, i.e., (monthly average BOD₅ value of the sea area / baseline BOD₅ value of the sea area). The BOD₅ index is classified as follows: "normal" if the value is below 1.1, "early warning" if the value is between 1.1 and 1.2, and "abnormal" if the value exceeds 1.2.
