Dataset for ‘Impact of global warming-induced sea-surface salt concentration changes on island groundwater system’

The influence of sea-surface salt concentration (SSC) on freshwater lens (FWL) and seawater intrusion (SWI) extent in island aquifers is studied.The impacts of aquifer hydraulic conductivity (HK), recharge (RCH) and size (L) on responses of FWL and SWI extent to SSC variations are investigated.FWL responds more to SSC drops than rises, and islands with higher HK, lower RCH, or smaller L show greater sensitivity in FWL depth, thickness, and volume to SSC changes.
