Its pathogen is a novel influenza A (H1N1) virus that spreads among human populations. Compared with conventional or current seasonal influenza viruses, this viral strain harbors gene segments from three influenza viruses: swine influenza, avian influenza, and human influenza. Humans are generally susceptible to the influenza A (H1N1) virus, and human-to-human transmission is feasible. The early symptoms of human infection with this virus are similar to those of common influenza, including fever, cough, sore throat, myalgia, headache, chills, and fatigue. Some cases may also develop diarrhea or vomiting, muscle pain or tiredness, conjunctival redness, and other manifestations. This database compiles all reported data since the implementation of the network-based direct reporting system for notifiable infectious diseases in 2004. Its core contents include aggregated statistical data and relevant original individual case data, such as the number of incident cases, incidence rate, number of deaths, mortality rate, etc., stratified by region, age and gender, occupation, and disease type.
