NOAA Storm Events Database is the official storm database maintained by the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). It documents storms and other significant weather phenomena occurring from January 1950 to February 2026. This database includes weather events that result in loss of life, human injuries, substantial property damage and/or business interruptions, as well as rare, anomalous weather phenomena and other critical meteorological events. The data is entered by the NOAA National Weather Service (NWS), and has undergone data reformatting and event type standardization processing.
