Fenno-Scandinavian Regional Fire Data Set

The Fire Product: Fenno-Scandanavian Regional Fire Data Set was part of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme Data and Information System (IGBP-DIS) Regional Satellite Fire Data Compilation CD-ROM. Three ASCII files list the active fires detected by the automatic fire detection system in the following periods: 5 July - 15 August 1994 4 July - 8 September 1995 24 June - 16 September 1996 The monitoring area, outside which fires were ignored, is a rectangle (a square of 1500 km by 1500 km in the Transverse Mercator projection) limited by the following points: 66 18' North, 13 48' East 65 25' North, 47 49' East 52 12' North, 40 57' East 52 43' North, 18 17' East The Fenno-Scandinavian Regional Fire Data Set was produced by VTT Automation in co-operation with the Finnish Meteorological Institute and the Finnish Ministry for the Interior.
