Woodlot Dataset

We as a group of four students collected a data on the grasslands and woodlot plants of the York University campus. For the woodlot experiment in a row of 10 trees, as a group of two : 1. The Diameter of Breast Height of each tree in a row of 10, were measured using a Transect tool placed horizontally at the base of the tree. Measrements were recorded in centimetres. 2.Second, the distance of the trees from its nearest sapling (same species) were measured by one person holding the one end of the Transect tape at the Tree and the other person holding the other end at its sapling. This was continued in a row from the sapling to the next tree and so on. Measurements were recorded in metres. 3.Lastly, the extent of the canopy coverage of each tree was estimated by making a square with fingers and holding it up and the visible sky was observed and an estimate was recorded. Data was recorded in percentage.
