Texas Credential to Career Crosswalk

The Texas Credential to Career Crosswalk links education pathways and labor market demand across Texas by integrating publicly available datasets from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), and the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The dataset connects Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs of Study (POS), Industry-Based Certifications (IBCs), postsecondary program areas classified using the Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP), and occupations classified using the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system. Regional labor market information from the Texas Workforce Commission is incorporated to identify occupational demand across Texas Workforce Development Areas. By linking these classification systems, the crosswalk provides a unified framework for analyzing how secondary CTE programs, industry-recognized certifications, and postsecondary programs align with workforce needs across Texas. The dataset is intended to support research and policy analysis related to education-to-workforce pathways, career and technical education, and labor market alignment. This dataset was developed as part of the LONESTARP3 Data Council.
