The Braille Letters dataset was created by the Italian Institute of Technology for research on tactile perception and spatiotemporal pattern recognition. Collected via the tactile sensors of the iCub robot, the dataset includes 3D-printed Braille letters ranging from 'A' to 'Z' plus the 'space' character, with a total of 5400 records. It is used to train and compare both feedforward and recurrent spiking neural networks (SNNs), and enables fast and efficient inference on Intel Loihi neuromorphic chips. The application fields of this dataset cover robotic tactile perception and real-time processing, aiming to solve the problems of energy efficiency and computational latency.
