Additional file 1 of Quantifying ento-literacy: development and validation of an international insect-focused attitude and knowledge survey instrument

Additional file1: This compilation of published research studies includes those that focused on knowledge about insects and/or attitude toward insects. Target audiences are defined as follows: Pre-school (age 0–5), Elementary (age 6–12), Secondary (age 13–18), University (post-high school), Adults (mixed or unspecified, generally past school-age). Data types are either qualitative or quantitative (abbreviated qual and quant). The primary focus of each study was assessed as Knowledge (K), Attitude (A) or both. Insect-related topics comprise six general categories: identification and classification, biology, value of insects to people, attitude toward insects, attitude toward insects as food, insects in the context of urbanization.
