This dataset is a combined and modified dataset derived from the following two tomato dataset sources: "AgRobTomato Dataset" by Magalhães et al. (2021), available at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5596799 (Licensed under CC BY 4.0). "tomatOD Dataset" by Tsironis et al. (2020), available at https://github.com/up2metric/tomatOD (Licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Due to the license terms of the tomatOD dataset, this combined dataset is distributed under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. The four classes in order are: Unripe (green) Half-ripe (orange-green) Near-ripe (orange-red) Ripe (red) The key motivation was that the near-ripe/half-ripe boundary is the hardest classification problem — both stages share overlapping colour gamuts and surface textures
