Electron donor trials testing for enrichment of Ca. Nealsonbacteria from a methanogenic benzene-degrading consortium

The experiment is designed to test if Ca. Nealsonbacteria DGGOD1a could grow on crude lysed biomass or specific sub-cellular components. Various biomass fractions of cell lysate, Hydrogen, salmon sperm DNA, Phosphatidylethanolamine, Sodium pyruvate and Sodium acetate were tested and suggested that it is involved in biomass recycling.
