Imaging the postcrania of a new species of large bodied biarmosuchian from the Permian of South Africa

This project will image the forelimb material of a newly identified large-bodied, carnivorous biarmosuchian from the Permian of South Africa. The goal is to analyze its gross anatomy and bone microstructure to gain new insights into growth and development within this poorly understood lineage. The data will complement existing analyses of the exceptionally well-preserved skull, contributing to a more comprehensive understanding of early therapsid evolution.
