16S metabarcoding dataset for sediments from the Chukchi and Northern Bering Seas

Sediment cores were collected via multi-core during the NPRB-funded Arctic IERP program as part of the ASGARD field program. Sampling was conducted in 2017 and 2018. Cores were sliced on board the ship into 1-cm intervals, and sediments were freeze-dried and then DNA-extracted. Amplicon sequencing for the 16S gene was conducted at the University of Alaska Fairbanks DNA core facility.
