We directly compared thermal cameras and traditional spotlights in vehicle‐based surveys for detecting small, cryptic endotherms at night. Thermal cameras provide improved detection rates and detection distances under a range of vegetation structures compared to spotlights, while causing less disturbance to roosting animals.本研究于夜间开展车载式调查，直接对比了热成像相机与传统聚光灯在检测小型隐蔽恒温动物时的表现。相较于传统聚光灯，热成像相机在多种植被结构条件下均可提升检测率与检测距离，同时对栖息动物的干扰程度更低。
