MMP13-Mediated Fibronectin Degradation Facilitates Coronavirus Attachment to Integrin αvβ3 and Enhances Viral Invasion
收藏资源简介:
This study uncovers a conserved coronavirus strategy in which PEDV infection up-regulates host MMP13 via the IL-1β/JNK pathway. Elevated MMP13 degrades extracellular fibronectin, removing its competitive blockade of PEDV spike–integrin αvβ3 binding and thereby accelerating viral entry. The same MMP13–fibronectin–αvβ3 axis is exploited by SARS-CoV-2 and porcine deltacoronavirus, revealing a potential pan-coronavirus therapeutic target.
