unclassified medusavirus genome

While the discovery of giant virus breaks our knowledge of virology and blurs the boundary between organism and virus. From primer-based research, there are still plenty of different giant virus under discovered. Medusavirus was isolated from a hot spring in Japan before. This time we isolated it from fresh water environment, which indicates this virus may have a wider distribution than we thought before. Sequencing its genome may give us information about how it differs with the one from hot spring and enlarge our knowledge on giant virus.
