Great Western Highway upgrade at Kelso : review of environmental factors

The NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) proposes to widen around 2.4 kilometres of the Great Western Highway at Kelso to four lanes with a divided median. The proposed upgrade extends from just west of the Great Western Highway intersection with Stockland Drive to just east of Ashworth Drive (the proposal). The proposal is required to ease current traffic congestion at peak times and to cater for future traffic growth from increased population and residential and commercial development anticipated in the area.新南威尔士州道路与海事服务局（Roads and Maritime Services, RMS）拟对位于凯尔索（Kelso）的大西部公路（Great Western Highway）约2.4公里路段进行拓宽改造，将其升级为设置分隔带的双向四车道。本次拟实施的升级工程，起自大西部公路与斯托克兰德大道（Stockland Drive）交叉口西侧，止于阿什沃思大道（Ashworth Drive）东侧。本项目旨在缓解当前高峰时段的交通拥堵状况，并适配该区域因人口增长、住宅及商业开发预期带来的未来交通增长需求。
