VPRS 12627 Committee Records

This series comprises the documentation collected or created by the Joint Committee on Road Safety (VA 3130) in the course of its activities. It was previously titled "Inquiry files", however the title was changed to "Committee Records" in 2003 as the series includes some non-inquiry-based records. These may include records such as minutes of meetings of the Committee, Executive Officer reports, Annual Reports and the Committee's overall budget.Although the range of documents captured during each inquiry will vary, the following broad categories of documents are common:General administrative records relating to particular inquiries such as the inquiry budget, memoranda, media releases, sub-committee minutes, etc.Background papers, comprising copies of printed material, reports etc gathered by the Committee in the course of initial research into the matter to be investigated.Correspondence files relating to either the actual investigation or organisational aspects of the inquiry.Submissions tendered by individuals or organisations during the investigation stating their views on the issues concerned. Some submissions were also received in response to public hearings or issues in the final report.Transcripts of public hearings held and overseas visits made during the inquiry. Copies of the transcripts, which were forwarded to the various participants for amendments or corrections, are also included.Reports, including the final printed copy as presented to Parliament, containing the Committee's findings.This series also includes some non-inquiry-based records such as minutes of meetings of the Committee, Executive Officer reports, Annual Reports and the Committee's overall budget.

本系列档案收录道路安全联合委员会（Joint Committee on Road Safety，VA 3130）履职期间收集或编制的全部文件资料。该系列此前曾以“调查档案”为名，后因收录部分非调查类文件，于2003年更名为“委员会档案”。
此类非调查类档案包括委员会会议纪要、执行干事报告、年度报告及委员会整体预算档案等。
尽管每次调查所收录的文件范围各有不同，但以下几大类文件较为常见：
1. 特定调查相关综合行政档案：涵盖调查预算文件、备忘录、新闻稿、小组委员会会议纪要等；
2. 背景资料文件：包含委员会针对待调查事项开展初步研究期间收集的印刷材料、报告等副本；
3. 往来信函档案：涉及调查实际推进或调查组织相关事宜的往来文件；
4. 意见书档案：个人或机构在调查期间提交的、就相关议题阐明立场的意见书；部分意见书亦为回应公众听证会或最终报告中提及的议题而提交；
5. 公开听证笔录与海外考察记录：调查期间举行的公众听证会笔录及海外考察行程记录，此外还包含已分发至各参与方以供修订校正的听证笔录副本；
6. 报告档案：包含提交议会的最终印刷版报告在内的、载有委员会调查结论的各类报告。
本系列档案同时收录部分非调查类文件，具体包括委员会会议纪要、执行干事报告、年度报告及委员会整体预算档案等。
