Ecology Lab 3: Data Set 3- Sweep Net

The following experiment took place on September 30th, 2014 at approximately 3:30 pm in 19 degrees celcius weather in the Danby Woods area located in the York U Keele Campus. A transect tape was laid down 25 metres long and a selected member of the group sweeped the net along the transect tape back and forth for approximately 3 minutes. This process was to be replicated 10 times but was reduced to three due to a time constraint. After the three minutes were up the group members examined the inside of the net for the total number of insect species, the types of species, and the number of unique recognisable taxonomic units (RTU's).本实验于2014年9月30日下午约3时30分，在约克大学基尔校区丹比森林区域、气温19摄氏度的环境下开展。实验人员铺设了一条长25米的样带卷尺，随后指派一名小组成员持捕虫网沿样带卷尺来回扫网，采样时长约3分钟。该采样流程原计划重复10次，但因时间限制缩减为3次。3分钟扫网结束后，小组成员对网内样本进行检视，统计昆虫物种总数、物种类别以及可识别独特分类单元（recognisable taxonomic units，RTU）的数量。
