The Coordinated Enhanced Observing Period (CEOP) is an integrated global observing system. It involved the simultaneous or near-simultaneous collection of observations from several regions around the world, including in situ measurements of surface meteorology and radiation; soil temperature and moisture; flux tower measurements (latent heat flux, sensible heat flux, CO2 flux, and soil heat flux); and tower meteorology. In particular, it includes: (1) several reference sites in the continental-scale experimental regions of GEWEX as well as other regions, (2) extensive field measurements for addressing monsoonal systems, and (3) validation studies for new satellite systems.

协同强化观测计划(Coordinated Enhanced Observing Period,CEOP)是一套综合性全球观测系统,可同步或近同步收集全球多个区域的观测数据,涵盖地表气象与辐射的原位测量、土壤温度与湿度监测、通量塔观测(包括潜热通量、感热通量、二氧化碳通量及土壤热通量)以及塔基气象观测。具体而言,该计划包含三类核心内容:(1) 全球能量和水循环实验(Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment,GEWEX)大陆尺度实验区域及其他区域内的多个参考站点;(2) 针对季风系统开展的大规模野外实地测量;(3) 针对新型卫星系统的验证研究。
