Comparative transcriptome analysis revealed adaptive evolution of Notopterygium incisum and N. franchetii, the two high-alpine herbal species endemic to China

Notopterygium incisum and N. franchetii (Notopterygium, Apiaceae) are the two endangered high-alpine herbal plants endemic to China. To explore molecular genetic mechanisms of adaptation to high altitudes, we present high throughput RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) to characterize the transcriptomes of two species.
