Sources of Lifetime Inequality

Is lifetime inequality mainly due to differences across people established early in life or to differences in luck experienced over the working lifetime? We answer this question within a model that features idiosyncratic shocks to human capital, estimated directly from data, as well as heterogeneity终身收入不平等究竟主要源于个体早年奠定的能力差异，还是源于其职业生涯中遭遇的运气波动？我们在一个纳入了直接基于实测数据估计的人力资本特质性冲击，同时包含个体异质性特征的模型框架内，对这一问题给出了解答。
